The Hart was instantly memorable. We camped at the first gravel bar and within minutes we were rewarded with fresh fish for dinner. During the night we had a moose and calf walk through camp. This was the first of three close encounters in four days.
From there we spent the next two weeks hiking and paddling through some of the most pristine habitat in the world. We didn’t see another soul on the river and It was very humbling to be so isolated and totally self reliant. The combination of towering mountains, rich wildlife, crystal clear water and endless forests was awe inspiring.
